Family offices manage some of the most sensitive information and concentrated wealth in the world.

They are also among the least protected financial entities in existence.

The Cyber Foundation was founded by family office executives and cybersecurity leaders who sit on both sides of this problem. At the center of every family office is trust. Protecting that trust requires understanding, with confidence, where your risks actually lie. Because we’ve lived it, we built something that doesn’t yet exist: an independent, vendor-agnostic nonprofit* dedicated to helping family offices move from reactive to ready.

In a time of incredible innovation coupled with profound uncertainty and risk, The Cyber Foundation is giving family offices what they need to capitalize on opportunities and be more secure.

2025 TCF Family Office Survey Highlights

Read the full report here.

  • 65% reported high confidence in understanding their cybersecurity risks while only 16% describe their internal communication about those risks as very effective.

  • 67% have one or fewer internal IT and/or cybersecurity staff.

  • 48% let external vendors define their entire technology and cybersecurity strategy.

What this tells us…

  • We have confidence without foundation

  • We are outsourcing without ownership

  • We make investments without the ability to evaluate outcomes.

To learn more, join us for the TCF Insights Series for a 3-part discussion of the survey report and findings starting in May 2026. Dates for the series will be announced shortly.
